Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry conferred on Sunday with the Japanese minister of state for foreign affairs on bilateral relations and joint efforts to combat terrorism.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Badr Abdel Aatti said the Japanese minister voiced happiness over his participation in the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC), saying his country is looking forward to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Tokyo soon.
Japanese Prime Minister Shenzo Abe paid a visit to Egypt in January and voiced committed to bolstering bilateral relations in all domains.
The Japanese official reiterated that stability and prosperity of Egypt is necessary for the prosperity of all world countries and affirmed his country's backing of all efforts exerted to realize stability and combat terrorism in Egypt.
The spokesman also said Shoukry asserted to the Japanese official that Egypt is looking forward to Japan's contribution to the development process in Egypt and to increase its investments here.
