The head of delegation and representative of the Coordination of Azawad Movements (CMA), Bilal Ag Acherif qualified, Friday in Algiers, the signing of a record of conclusion of the preparatory consultations for the implementation of the Peace Agreement, and the security arrangement for a cessation of hostilities in Northern Mali, a “precious” and “serious” contribution.
In his speech at the signing ceremony, Agi Acherif underlined that these two documents reflect “a clear commitment from the Malian government, the CMA, the international mediation and the international parties present here,” because it constitutes “a precious and serious contribution to facilitate the implementation of the Peace and Reconciliation Agreement signed on May 15th, pending its signing by the CMA on June 20th.”
On the other hand, he highlighted the importance of these documents in the implementation of the Peace and Reconciliation Agreement in Mali, calling to gather “the necessary conditions to reach real peace, which will allow the Azawads and the Malian people to begin a new step in the framework of justice, security and the respect of human dignity.”
Ag Acherif added that the coordination is committed “to respect the documents signed Today (Friday) and previously,” calling the Malians to put an end to all military operations and civil rights violations.”
