President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Monday with Head of the Kremlin's Security Council Nikolai Patrushev.
During the meeting, attended by a number of Egyptian and Russian officials, Sisi welcomed the Russian official and hailed Russia's support to Egypt.
He further affirmed that the Egyptian-Russian ties are strong and stable.
It is important to adopt a comprehensive strategy to combat terrorism in all its forms, Sisi said.
He also underlined the need for promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
Sisi further said that it is important to work on restoring security and stability in countries of the region.
He also warned of the spread of terrorism, adding that poverty is a main reason of disseminating terrorism that should be confronted.
The Russian official, for his part, hailed the positive development in the Egyptian-Russian ties, in light of the exchange of visits between the two countries.
He also pointed out to the positive outcome of the recent visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Egypt.
