New York - Arab Today
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday briefed a number of leading US figures on the situation in Egypt and the region as well, said Egyptian scientist Farouk el Baz.
In statements after the meeting that was held in New York, Baz said that Sisi reviewed Egypt's vision on the situation in the Middle East as well as Cairo-Washington relations.
During the meeting, Sisi noted that 60 million Egyptians are under the age of 40, pointing out that those young people need special attention, notably reforming the education sector, so they may take part in their country's construction and development, Baz added.
The prominent Egyptian scientist added that no US government officials attended the meeting; however, those figures who partook in the meeting have political influence on the US administration.
Sisi explained to the American figures the threats plaguing the region, Baz noted.
