Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi phoned British Prime Minister David Cameron to congratulate him on his re-election, said the British Cabinet on Thursday.

Sisi and Cameron agreed to work closely on regional security and help in bringing stability to Libya, according to the official Twitter account of the Cabinet.

The Conservative Party swept to power, winning an unexpected and resounding victory that returns Cameron to 10 Downing Street in a stronger position than before.
