President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has congratulated president-elect in Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari on his election win.
During a meeting with Buhari, Ambassador Ashraf Salama carried president Sisi's wishes of success in achieving prosperity for the Nigerians, a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry said.
The ambassador added that there is a high need to beef up cooperation between the two countries in light of the historic ties binding the two countries.
The ambassador said he carried a thank-you message from the Nigerian president-elect to president Sisi.
