President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday will open Africa Forum 2016 in Sharm El Sheikh on Saturday.
The forum runs on February 20-21 with 1,500 figures from various countries attending.
Presidents of Sudan, Nigeria, Togo, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea and Prime Minister of Ethiopia are scheduled to attend the forum, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
The forum is expected to mull developments in Africa and means to boost economic ties between the continent’s countries, the spokesman said.
Egypt organizes the forum in cooperation with the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) under the umbrella of the African Union Commission.
Also, it is planned to discuss improving infrastructure in the continent and finding new resources to meet energy needs, the spokesman added.
President Sisi is expected to hold one-on-one meetings on the sidelines of the forum with African heads of state and government to discuss relations, the spokesman added.
