German Ambassador to Egypt Hansjorg Haber said on Thursday that preparations are underway between the German and Egyptian authorities to prepare for President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Germany.
Sisi is scheduled to visit Germany at an invitation of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
"The visit will be ahead of the parliamentary elections," Haber said during a press conference at the headquarters of the German Embassy in Cairo.
He added that the visit is a good chance to restore good relations between the two states.
"The two sides will discuss Egypt's economic reforms as well as the outcome of the anti-terror war," Haber said.
