President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has urged to enact laws or amend laws in force to ensure controlling police performance in the Egyptian street, Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Alaa Yousef. During a meeting with Interior Minister Magdi Abdel Ghaffar in Sharm El Sheikh, President Sisi called for submitting such laws or amendments to the parliament within 15 days. Abdel Ghaffar briefed President Sisi on the latest developments of internal security in the country following recent events in the country. The powers granted to some security bodies are meant to enable them to protect the lives and interest of citizens and to bring about security and order into the country within the framework of mutual appreciation and respect, President Sisi said. President Sisi stressed the importance of confronting irresponsible acts committed by some policemen according to the law. Egypt and its people appreciate the sacrifices of honorable policemen who exert utmost efforts to bring about stability and security for the people and reject any individual abuses against citizens, President Sisi said.
