Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will discuss in his planned visit to Russia the potential participation of Russian companies in the Suez Canal corridor development project, said a Russian expert.

Sergei Demidenko, an expert at the Institute of Strategic Studies and Analysis in Moscow, said that certain agreements are expected to be concluded during the visit, Sputnik reported.

Egypt is in dire need of foreign investments, the Russian expert said, stressing that his country is keen on supporting Egypt in technical or investment areas.

President Sisi will start on Tuesday a three-day official visit to Russia to boost bilateral cooperation and investments.

Sisi's visit to Russia and his scheduled meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin fall within the framework of distinguished relations binding the two countries and the mutual determination to boost the strategic relationship to higher horizons.

The visit will offer a chance for promoting cooperation with Russia in the various domains, especially in the economic field.

The two presidents will hold a joint press conference on the outcome of their talks.

While in Russia, Sisi is scheduled to meet with a number of senior Russian officials and heads of major Russian companies.
