Iranian First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri

Iraq's highest-ranking Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani met Wednesday with visiting Iranian First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri.
Jahangiri arrived in Najaf earlier Wednesday coming from Baghdad.
His stop in Najaf is part of a three-day visit to Iraq, during which he also met with Iraqi President Fouad Masum to convey an invitation from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Masum to visit Tehran.
Jahangiri also met with Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al Abadi.
On Monday, the Iranian VP signed a number of economic agreements and memorandums of understanding with Iraqi officials in the fields of transport, tourism, trade, industry, agriculture, housing, exhibitions, excavation, environment and veterinary medicine.
Abadi and Jahangiri also signed the minutes of the third meeting of the joint high committee.
