Slovak presidential elections will take place on March 15 next year, with the second round taking place on March 29, authorities said Thursday. Local media quoted parliamentary chairman Pavol Paska as saying that the election would be structured as a two-round vote. In the first round, if a candidate receives an absolute majority of valid votes then no second round will be necessary. The list of presidential candidates has reached 15 by Thursday. Incumbent Prime Minister Robert Fico will run for the presidential post as the Smer party's nominee.
