The new president of the opposition Syrian National Coalition (SNC) Ahmed al-Jarba appealed on Tuesday for Turkey to continue to provide aid to the Syrian people at home and abroad, saying that Syrian revolution is now in for Turkish support more than ever. Al-Jarba told reporters before beginning a closed-door meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in Ankara that \"We need your help and support at all times, especially in these difficult days,\" adding that the revolution in Syria is at an important juncture. Al-Jarba expressed his gratitude to the Turkish government for its continued support for the Syrian people and harboring tens of thousands of displaced Syrians on its soil, expressing his hope that Turkey\'s assistance would continue to the Syrian revolution. He said that his visit to Ankara immediately after his election as President of the SNC two days ago is to express his thanks and gratitude to the Turkish government for standing by the Syrian people in their struggle against tyranny and injustice. For his part, Davutoglu congratulated Al-Jarba on his election as President of the SNC and on the advent of Ramadan. Davutoglu said that \"today is the first day of the holy month of Ramadan in Turkey and I hope that this year\'s Ramadan is the latest in the Syrian brothers struggle against tyranny and oppression,\" referring to the suffering of the Syrians, which entered its third year. He stressed Turkey\'s determination to stand by the Syrians, saying the Syrian National Coalition is the legitimate representative of the Syrian people. \"We do everything we can to serve the Syrian citizens who reside in Turkey in order to facilitate their Ramadan fasting\", he added.
