South Korea’s opposition Democratic United Party (DUP) is ready to face official parliamentary investigation over allegations raised by ruling Saenuri Party, S.Korea (Yonhap) news agency reported Thursday. The ruling camp has accused that late President Roh Moo-hyun tried to nullify the de-facto sea border between South and North Korea in 2007. DUP floor leader Park Jie-won said in a meeting of senior officials that the opposition will accept calls for an official parliamentary investigation if the Saenuri Party can prove there is a transcript of Roh verbally promising North Korean leader Kim Jong-il to nullify the Northern Limit Line (NLL), and agreeing to a massive aid programme. “Saenuri is making unfounded claims to cope with the weak showing in the polls by its presidential hopeful, Park Geun-hye, but such tactics are nothing more than outdated political ploys,” Park Jie-won said.
