Addis Ababa - SUNA
Sudan and South Sudan State Tuesday evening signed in Addis Ababa a decree on establishment of a new mechanism to monitor and verify that each of the two parties does not harbor armed movements and groups against the other party and also verify any violation or non-commitment to agreement of cessation of hostilities and other pertinent agreements. A statement of the government for the negotiations indicated that the meeting has approved a report of the commander of UNESFA at Abyei through which the two parties affirmed their commitment to the pulling out of their forces from the border. UNESDA also gave a report on readiness of the mechanism for monitoring at the demilitarized area.
