Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir has issued a republican decree declaring 31 May an annual National Day for Peace to be celebrated nationwide. The decree stated that 31 May coincides with the signing of the Doha Agreement for Darfur Peace, and it was issued as recommended by the state minister of the presidency and chairman of the Bureau of Darfur Peace, Dr. Amin Hassan Omer, SUNA has reported. The decree instructed the ministries of presidency’s affairs, the Council of Ministers and the other concerned parties to implement the decree.
