The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its deep regret and full condemnation to the killing of the chieftain of Dinka Ngok, Kuwal Deng Majok, three of the UNISFA force and members of Messairiya tribe. The ministry in a statement it issued Sunday expressed its condolences to the family of Sultan Kuwal Deng Majok and members of the Dinka Ngok tribe, the citizens of Messairiya tribe and the government and people of Ethiopia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the concerned authorities will carry out an inclusive, transparent and fair investigation on the incident. The ministry called on all the concerned parties to stick to the maximum level of wisdom and self-restraint under the current painful conditions. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Sudan government commitment to all the agreements that it has signed with South Sudan State and its determination to implement these agreements on the ground, affirming the keenness of Sudan to the normalization and enhancement of the bilateral relations between the two countries and solution of the outstanding issues. The ministry expressed its remark that the sorrowful incident came when the two countries shared strong political will to bolster the cooperation between them for the interest of the two sister peoples, resolved the pending security issues and resumed the trade and cooperation between them in the oil field, hoping that this sorrowful and isolated incident will not affect the relations between the two countries.
