The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Ahmed Karti, has met a delegation of the Lords group (British House of Lords) which arrived Khartoum on Friday in response to invitation of the University of Khartoum. The head of the visiting lords delegation explained that their visit aims to getting informed on the situation and the political and economic conditions in the country. The Foreign Minister has briefed the Lords delegation on the political and security situation in the country and reviewed progress of Sudan relations with South Sudan State and the start of negotiations with North Sector. He stressed that the issue of dialogue is the strategic choice of the state and the alternative of war, despite the attacks of the Sudan People\'s Liberation Movement on civilians and unarmed citizens. The minister also tackled Darfur issue and efforts being made for achieving stability in the region. He also reviewed Sudan relations with United Kingdom, pointing to the historical bilateral relations and the expectation of Sudan for more positive role of Britain in supporting Sudan stability. Members of the British delegation indicated that they are looking forward for for more strong ties between the two countries via exchange of visits by officials, the civil society organizations, and women associations in the two countries.
