Sudanese President Omar el Bashir left here on Friday for Egypt to participate in a COMESA summit, scheduled to kick off Saturday in Sharm El Sheikh.

The two-day event will be attended by a large number of African and Arab heads of state and prime ministers.

Egyptian Ambassador to Sudan Osama Shaltout said the forum will discuss ways of promoting investment in the COMESA countries.

He added that a tripartite meeting of Egyptian, Sudanese and Ethiopian presidents will be held on the sideline of the summit to discuss the latest developments of the Ethiopian renaissance dam.
