Sudan's ruling National Congress Party (NCP) rejected Friday taking part in meetings that should be held in Addis Ababa to prepare for national dialogue.
The party said the African mechanism and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North did not honor a recent agreement on the agenda of the dialogue.
Vice president of the NCP Ibrahim al Ghandour said the previous agenda included inviting representatives of the national dialogue mechanism's committee and the armed movements to reach a deal on the road map.
Ghandour said the NCP was surprised that a number of persons, who it did not know who they represented, were invited.
In addition to that, the NCP received the invitation late while it is busy preparing for the elections, due to be held in 10 days.
He stressed that it was illogical to invite Sudanese politicians to a conference or meetings abroad in such critical time.
Ghandour added that the representative of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North called for canceling the elections; which was unacceptable to his party and 44 other parties contesting in the polls.
