Sudanese President Omar al Bashir praised on Wednesday Russian support to his country at all regional and international forums.
This came during a meeting held between al Bashir and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov who attended the al Bashir's inauguration ceremony held on Tuesday.
Also, the Sudanese president appreciated the active role played by Russia in monitoring the parliamentary and presidential elections that took place last April.
In a statement, Media Adviser to Sudanese President Mohamed Hatem Soliman said that the Sudanese leader is keen on developing relations with Russia in all fields to serve the interests of the two countries' peoples.
For his part, Bogdanov praised the fairness and transparency of the Sudanese presidential polls.
The Russian and Sudanese leaders are willing to boost bilateral cooperation and establish a real partnership in various areas as Sudan is one of the most strategic partners to Russia in Africa and the Arab world, according to the Russian official.
