Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman has pardoned 278 prisoners convicted in different cases, it was announced here. According to the Omani News Agency, those pardoned include 176 Omani prisoners and 102 convicts of different nationalities. The Royal pardon, marking Eid Al Fitr, takes into account the families of prisoners and their social circumstances, the agency also said.
