Syria has asked Aksa, a private Turkish company, to resume electricity supplies, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said today. “Damascus has officially appealed to the Turkish private company that previously exported electricity to Syria to resume the supplies,” TRT Haber TV channel reported Yildiz as saying. Turkey supplies 232.2 million kilowatt / hours of electricity each month to Syria. These volumes ensure around 20 per cent of Syria’s electricity needs.
