Militants detonated an explosive device they had planted in the Finance Directorate in Aleppo, causing significant damage to the building and putting the IT department in it out of commission, but causing no injuries among civilians. Director of Aleppo Finance Directorate Mahmoud Jamal said the bombing destroyed the IT department and its equipment completely, and that the Directorate will continue work and process paperwork manually until the damage is repaired, SANA reported. Jamal asserted that all data and documents are stored digitally and backed up, and were unaffected by the blast, with not a single document or transaction being lost. Aleppo Governor Mohammad Wahid Aqqad visited the Directorate after the attack, calling for taking quick steps to repair the damage and ensure that citizens' paperwork is processed as soon as possible.
