The United Nations will be closely examining a video on the alleged summary executions of Syrian soldiers in the north of the country which could constitute a war crime, the spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva said today. \'It is very hard to make a pronouncement quickly, we will examine the video. The soldiers were not fighters anymore so this would constitute a war crime\', said the spokesman Rupert Colville. Activists posted a video on the internet showing the summary executions of several troops who were captured and killed. The footage will be \'closely examined\', said the spokesman, stressing that this would be the last of a number f summary executions by factions of the opposition and government forces and affiliated groups, such as Shabbiha. Authors of such crimes, he admonished, should know that they will be brought to justice. Evidence of a number of crimes has been found and if the video will be found truthful it could become part of evidence to bring those guilty to justice.
