Amman - KUNA
Three Syrian refugees have died while trying to cross the border to Jordan, said an official here on Monday. The increasing number of Syrian refugeess is a result of escalating violence, hunger, and shortage of supplies back in their country, Al-Ghad daily quoted General Coordinator for the affairs of Syrian refugees, Anmar Al-Humoud, as saying. He said that some 3,600 refugees crossed the border to Jordan yesterday. In the last couple of weeks, over 20,000 Syrian sought refuge in Jordan.
