Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon

The presidents of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have called for political solution to Afghanistan’s problems.

Tajikistan’s president Emomali Rahmon after a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow in Ashqabad, capital of Turkmnestan, said that political solution is the only way to bring peace and stability in Afghanistan, Khaama News Agency reported on Saturday.

A joint statement issued by the two leaders states that the use of force would not solve the internal problems of Afghanistan but it will have opposite results.

The statement further states that Tajikistan and Turkmenistan back strongest support of international community to Afghanistan that will be beneficial for entire region.

This comes after Afghanistan’s First Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum sought to cut diplomatic relations with Pakistan.

Dostum said that Pakistan has not been honest in his promises to fight terrorism equally.
