Jalalabad suicide blast

Taliban disclaimed responsibility for a suicide attack in Jalalabad city that left 35 people killed and more than 100 others wounded this morning.

Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal, spokesman for the police headquarters of Nangarhar told Khaama Press that the incident took place around 08:15 AM in front of a branch of Kabul bank in Mukhaberat square.

The branch is well-known by issuing salaries to soldiers.

The same branch was stormed by suicide bombers in 2011 leaving at least 42 killed and dozens of others wounded.

Jalalabad Regional Hospital is put on alert to treat the victims. People have been rushing to the hospital to donate blood to the victims. Doctors have expressed concern over the health condition of dozens of people brought to them in wounded condition.

Shahidullah Shahid who has introduced himself as the spokesman for Daesh in the region has reportedly claimed responsibility of the attack in a text message to media.
