Taliban militants on Wednesday shot dead two Afghan interpreters working for the NATO troops in eastern Logar province of Afghanistan, according to local authorities. Local police officials said the two interpreters were killed by Taliban militants while they were on their way to Camp Shank to attend work, according to Afghan Online Newspaper (Khaama Press). The officials further added that Taliban militants placed the dead bodies of the two interpreters along the roadside with their vehicle. Thousands of Afghans have been recruited by International Security Assistance Force in various duties in Afghanistan. They are regularly targeted by the militants while on the way to or from work on the bases, and interpreters are also killed and wounded while deployed on operations with NATO forces.
