Talks aimed at ending fighting in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) opened on Sunday in the Ugandan capital Kampala the government and the M23 rebel group committing themselves to peace. The DRC\'s Foreign Minister Raymond Tshibanda is at the head of the government delegation, while M23\'s Executive Secretary Francois Rucogoza is heading his team in the Ugandan mediated talks. The 12-day talks originally scheduled for Friday were delayed to Sunday without clear explanation.
