Coordinator of Tamarod (Rebel) Movement Mahmoud Badr asserted that the Egyptian army protected the January 25 revolution and was able through the June 30 revolution to restore the dignity of the Egyptian people. Addressing a popular rally held on Saturday in Minya to explain articles of Egypt’s new constitution, Badr urged citizens to go for balloting. He asserted that the new constitution gave Upper Egypt the right to attain their rights. He asserted that participation of all Egyptians in the referendum will finally eradicate the extremist groups and end their presence on the Egyptian street. Meanwhile, Minya Governor General Salahuddine Zeyada urged all segments of the Egyptian people to practice their political rights and take part in the referendum in a bid to undermine any attempts to harm the interests of the nation.
