Thailand's prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra will make her first official visit to New Zealand later this week. Yingluck will meet with Prime Minister John Key in Auckland on Friday. She will also view dairy systems. In a statement, Key described New Zealand's relationship with Thailand as a close and warm one, saying the leaders will be looking at new areas of cooperation. "New Zealand and Thailand have shared interests in a range of areas, including security, economics, science and technology, and development, and there is strong Thai interest in New Zealand education, " Key said. There is also a strong trade relationship, with goods' trade doubling since the two countries' Closer Economic Partnership Agreement came into effect in 2005.
