Tunisian naval forces on Sunday foiled an attempt by 20 people to illegally immigrate to Italy.

In a statement earlier in the day, the interior ministry said that a police patrol arrested 20 Tunisian nationals who tried to sail to Italian coasts on board of a fishing boat.

The statement added that two people smugglers and two mediators were also arrested.
