Turkey has condemned the attack which targeted the UN-African Union joined Force in Darfur (UNAMID) and resulted in killing a number of soldiers. The Turkish Foreign Ministry demanded, in a statement today, that the perpetrators of this attack be brought to justice. The statement emphasized that punishing the perpetrators of this attack will help deter others from committing such attacks on the international peacekeeping forces. Seven Tanzanian soldiers were killed and seventeen others were injured, on Saturday in an attack that targeted UNAMID force, in what was described as the bloodiest attack on the peacekeeping mission in six years.
