Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey defended the EU\'s Copenhagen criteria in the Middle East. Davutoglu delivered a speech at a panel on EU-Turkey relations and Arab Spring, calling on the EU to support the change in the Middle East. Turkey and EU should focus on how they would bring back peace, prosperity and stability to Mediterranean region, he said as reported by Anatolia news agency. If the Middle East completed transformation process successfully, this would pave the way not only for regional but also for global peace, he said. Turkey\'s EU membership was important now than ever before, he said.
