Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu cut short a visit to the city of Konya after an attack against Turkish soldiers.
Davutoglu returned back to the Turkish capital of Ankara to convene a security meeting, ABC News reported.
Earlier in the day, two Turkish armored military vehicles were targeted by the Kurdistan Workers' Party near the village of Daglica, in Hakkari province, bordering Iraq and Iran.
Several Turkish soldiers were killed in the assault.
