Turkish Ambassador Sedat Onal praised the potential of Jordanian youth as well as the progress achieved by the younger generation in the Kingdom.The ambassador said during the closing ceremony of the Turkish Cultural Center’s First International Chess Championship, which was organized by the Center in cooperation with the Royal Jordanian Chess Federation, that such sports activities reflect the continued cooperation between Jordan and Turkey and help spread cultural values.Chairman of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Sedar Cam, on his part, highlighted the need to exchange expertise among Jordanian and Turkish youth and further boost the historical ties between the two countries.Director of the Turkish Cultural Center in Amman Mehmet Sidiq Yildrim said the championship is part of the Center’s activities to serve the community, spread the Turkish culture and reach out to voluntary civil society institutions.He said the programs of the Center target a number of sectors including the media, adding the Center offers Turkish language courses to Jordanian journalists and artists.During the ceremony, the ambassador and the TIKA chairman also presented awards to the winners.
