Turkish coast guard has foiled 27 illegal migration bids on rubber boats.

The boats sailed from the Turkish cities of Izmir, Mugla, Aydin, Balikesir and Canakkale heading toward the Greek islands enroute to Europe.

Meanwhile, a statement by the Mugla governor's office said that 1,083 refugees, mostly Syrians and Iraqis, have been rescued from the Aegean Sea over the past five days, Turkish NTV reported.
