The Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned Monday the attack that targeted a civilian cargo ship affiliated to a Turkish company in the Mediterranean Sea near the Libyan coasts.

The attack left the captain of the ship dead while two members of its crew were injured.

In a statement issued on Monday, the ministry said that the ship tried to move away after the attack but it came under two raids which led to the death of the third captain.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry demanded holding the perpetrators accountable.
