The Turkish military said on Sunday that it returned fire after 10-15 shots had been fired from the Syrian side of the border at an armored vehicle patrolling in southern Turkey. The armored vehicle was patrolling around the Ogulpinar border post in Narlica town of Hatay province, when 10-15 shots hit it, said a statement released by the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces. The statement added that the military responded in accordance with Turkey\'s rules of engagement. The Turkish military announced on Saturday that five Turkish soldiers were injured after being hit by fire coming from the Syrian side of the border on Friday night. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said later Friday that his country will respond immediately to any threat from the Syrian side just as the military did in recent months. \"From now on, we will make necessary response to any threat, regardless of whatever group it comes from,\" Davutoglu said. On Wednesday, Turkey returned fire into the Syrian territory after shots from the Syrian side killed one Turkish citizen and seriously wounded two others.
