At least eight people were injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a seaside restaurant in Somalia’s capital on Friday, witnesses said. The bomber died in the attack on the restaurant named Indian Ocean, located on Mogadishu’s Lido beach, which came after a blast outside of the establishment during the busy lunchtime hour. “A car that was parked outside the restaurant was exploded and caused no human casualties but brought massive destruction,” the owner of the restaurant, Mohamud Hareed Dhegey, told German press agency (dpa). “The second one was carried out by a young man who detonated himself inside the restaurant,” he said. According to Dhegey, the wounded, which included three of the restaurant staff, had been taken to the hospital.
