The Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, today attended the National Day endurance race held at Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba. The 120km race drew 164 riders, both men and women. The awards are worth AED500, 000. Dubai Crown Prince H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler and UAE Finance Minister H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy National Security Advisor, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, attended the race. Rider Ali Yusuf Al Hamadi won the race finishing in 4:14:04 hours at speed rate of 28:33km/h, followed by rider Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum, while Sheikh Hamad bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum came third. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, who is also Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, said the strong beginning of the race season heralds intense races, following good preparations of the stables for the season. He praised the standard of local horse coaches and riders who have proven their successes at the racecourses.
