The United Kingdom backs Egypt in its war on terror, a delegation comprising representatives from state, defence and national security offices in the UK said on Thursday.
This came during a meeting with Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Hatem Seifel Nasr and representatives of defence and interior ministries and the national security agencies.
Seifel Nasr said Egypt was interested in boosting ties with the United Kingdom as the biggest investor in Egypt.
The discussions today took up regional and international affairs of mutual interest topped by the situation in Libya, Iraq and Syria and the war on terror dossier in addition to economic and trade cooperation.
Members of the UK delegation expressed satisfaction over the level of cooperation between the two countries noting the importance of getting acquainted with the Egyptian views on the Middle East region stability and security.
