Daesh militants

Britain called on Sunday for more efforts at the international level to dry up financial resources of Daesh terrorist group.

Spokesman for the British government in the Middle East and North Africa Edwin Smoal said Britain played a vital role in this regard by issuing reports in Arabic on the importance of cutting off sources of funding to Daesh group.

Smoal further added that Britain supported the UN Security Council resolution no. 2199 of 2015, which called for freeing hostages held by Daesh groups without paying ransoms or offering political concessions.

"Daesh group collected 35 to 45 million dollars within a year," he said.
