British Defense Senior Adviser for Middle East Lt. General Tom Beckett stressed his country's commitment to boosting military relations with Egypt, the UK Embassy in Cairo said in a statement on Friday.

During his Thursday's visit, Beckett met with a raft of Egyptian defense officials, including Assistant Defense Minister Mohamed El Keshky, as they discussed means of boosting military relations between the two countries.

Beckett described Egypt as an important military partner, which plays a vital role in the fight against Daesh terrorist group.
