British Minister for Middle East, North Africa Tobias Ellwood hailed Egyptian security forces' efforts over the swift response and foiling of a terrorist attack that took place at a hotel in Hurghada.

On his Twitter account, the minister said "Well done Egypt, promptly ended yesterday's attack-confirm no Brits involved."

According to security sources, the security forces foiled late on Friday a terrorist attempt to storm Bella Vista Resort Hurghada.

Two Austrians and Swedish tourists suffered minor wounds in the attack.

An attacker was shot dead while the other one was severely injured.
