Iain Lobban, the director of the UK intelligence agency GCHQ for the past six years, will step down at year’s end, Britain's Foreign Office announced. Officials said his replacement has nothing to do with fallout resulting from Snowden leaks linked to a number of NSA scandals, RT reported. "Iain Lobban is doing an outstanding job as Director GCHQ," said a Foreign Office spokeswoman. "Today is simply about starting the process of ensuring we have a suitable successor in place before he moves on, planned at the end of the year."
