Ukraine's parliament Thursday has fired the powerful head of state security service after he had a disagreement with President Petro Poroshenko and became involved in a conflict with the nation's chief prosecutor, according to World Bulletin.

"The Verkhovna Rada (parliament) supported my proposal to dimiss Valentyn Nalyvaychenko from his post as head of the SBU," Poroshenko tweeted after 248 lawmakers in the 450-seat chamber supported the president's formal request.

In a vote at the 450-seat Verkhovna Rada on June 18, 248 lawmakers supported President Petro Poroshenko's request to fire Nalyvaychenko.
