The UN-Arab League envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, has arrived in the Egyptian capital Cairo. This is part of his regional mediating efforts to end the bloodshed in Syria. After his arrival, Brahimi asserted the necessity to stop the supply of weapons to Syria from ALL sides. Brahimi will meet Arab League Secretary General Nabil al-Arabi and several top Egyptian officials during his visit, before he heads for Syria.
