United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned a fatal terrorist attack in Cairo which resulted in the killing of Egyptian Prosecutor General Hesham Barakat.

"The Secretary-General extends his condolences to the family of the deceased and to the Government of Egypt hopes for the swift and full recovery of the injured,” the UN spokesperson’s office said in a statement obtained by MENA.

“He calls for those responsible for the attack to be brought to justice," the statement said.
